The Adobe Museum of Digital Media is mesmerizing. Digital media has obviously grown with the internet over the last decade or so–but to see a large company that has helped to pioneer this genre with its products recognize this and the need to move beyond more transient tumblrs and blogs and build the first virtual museum is pretty incredible.
This is no simple click and view online gallery, either–they’ve designed an entire virtual building complete with tour guides, curator, and explanations for its structure. You’ll probably need an hour or so to look at the Tony Oursler exhibit currently in the museum–about the same as IRL…. check back soon for more big name artists including Moriko Mori.
